If I could give Il Nido six stars I would. We have visited many times, and this restaurant consistently delivers one of the best dining experiences in Seattle. The pasta is insanely good, all hand crafted and fresh, do not miss the focaccia or dessert (you have never had angel food cake like this one), and the steak is perfection. Portions are generous, and big serving spoons arrive with every plate, making it easy to share.
Located in a historic log house, walking into Il Nido feels like stepping into a grand home. The staff is friendly and professional, and like a family themselves. We always feel welcome and well taken care of here.
The Italian wine list can be a bit intimidating, but don’t let that stop you from trying something new. The servers are great at helping choose the perfect bottle to compliment the meal. They are also very conscientious about allergy concerns, really watching every detail to care for each guest’s needs.
TIP: Reservations are hard to come by. Either book a month ahead or walk-in early (like before 5) to get a spot at the bar or on the enclosed patio.
If we could rate this restaurant's at 10 stars we would. From our intial greeting by Georgia to our table service by Katie to a very lovely conversation and personal attention by the owner Cameron Williams, my wife and I felt like we were dining at a friend's home. It was Tammy's birthday and we could not imagine being treated to a more lovely night out! The food was brilliant and each course was brought out delicately plated and perfectly prepared; the pacing was relaxed and so nicely thought out. One generally speaks to a restaurant's expertise in the kitchen and this establishment certainly has that rocking but honestly, we've never quite felt the GENUINE warmth from everyone we met at IL Nido at ANY other restaurant!
Cameron actually stuck his head out to say goodbye to us as we were heading toward our car ... WHO DOES THAT? Incredible!!!!!! We will absolutely be back!
Wow! What can I say? Drinks and the bartenders are fantastic. I asked for dealers choice and they’re always creative and accommodating. Tip your bartender! The staff is well versed in the magic happening in the kitchen and delighted to share the tasty creations upon request. The owner often walks the floor and ensures everyone is taken care of. I’ve been twice and will continue to visit when I want wow!
Il Nido is a delightful restaurant that elevates any occasion to a special one. Whether you snag a seat at the bar for a perfect bowl of pasta & a great glass of wine, or you book a table in advance and take a deep dive into their beautiful interpretation of Italian food with a very local PNW flair, expect to be surprised and inspired by what you find on the menu. The service from the moment you arrive to your goodbyes at the door is warm & attentive, and the staff are thoughtful and knowledgeable. Il Nido would be a gem of a restaurant, anywhere, but we're very grateful it's in our neck of the woods in West Seattle.
A beautiful experience. From the first foot in the door to each dish brought to the table. Fabulous flavor, excellent cook on the food.
Our server was a delight. The ambiance is lovely without being pretentious. We dined on a Saturday evening. Happened to walk in without reservations and lucked out at a sweet little bar table that served us perfectly. I’ll make a reservation next time and experience it that way too.
The focaccia was delicious. My testaroli was to die for in every way. Last meal kind of good.
Thank you so much friends. I can’t wait to come dine with you again.
Wow! Now this is five star dining ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The pasta is made fresh everyday and is amazing the staff is super attentive and it feels homey. The owner is super nice and checks on you. Def coming back.
I would've never expected a great Italian restaurant next to Alkai beach, and yet here we are.
Fresh pasta is the star of the menu, perfectly al dente and coated with great sauces.
Eggplani cannoli was on the special menu and we were not disappointed, and substituting the pasta with eggplant made the dish less heavy & filling.
The only problem with the salmon croquette, also on the special menu, is that it was not enough. I felt I could eat a whole plate of them.
The decor was very nice, though it took me a bit to wrap my head around the log cabin exterior structure. I initially walked past it not realizing that it housed a gourmet Italian restaurant inside.
In all, if you ever find yourself at it near Alkai and have the urge for fine Italian, I would not hesitate to recommend Il Nido.
If you’re lucky to secure a reservation, then you know it will be a wonderful evening. The service and atmosphere is relaxed, yet polished. But the highlight is indeed the food. We enjoyed the burrata with berries and focaccia bread to start. We shared the bucatini special with cherry tomatoes that were fresh and sweet. Their main stay bolognese is a must try. The shishito peppers with ricotta and goat cheese was delicious. Salmon with peas and snap peas was fresh and tasteful.
I’m pleased that they have transformed this place into a fine dining Italian place. Our family used to go to this place when it was the Alki Homestead.
